The Vedas and the Upanishads are ancient writings of India that contain ideas about how the Universe was first created, and it is quite interesting to see how those ideas have similarities and parallels to the even older ideas of the Hebrew Bible.

Over one billion people who live in the nation of India have grown up hearing the stories of the ancient writings called the Vedas and Upanishads, and many of them regard these as sacred writings. The Vedas and Upanishads provide some interesting clues about the real Source of Creation, and about the great multitude of spiritual beings which are found everywhere in our world.

Strangely, it seems that most of the Hindus, and most of the Buddhists too, have missed the clues in the Vedas that relate to the Creation Truth of the ancient Hebrew Bible.

The Hebrew Bible’s wisdom should not be ignored by the people of India, since it is a Holy Scripture that originated in Asia and its ancient writings— such as the books of Job and Genesis— have existed since a time even earlier than the time of writing for the Vedas.

The Hebrew Bible and the Greek New Testament are now regarded as Holy Scripture by nearly two billion people who are the Christian believers of this Earth. Christians believe that the Book of Genesis was written by Moses, who had access to still older knowledge and earlier writings. We also believe that God gave Moses divine inspiration as he wrote the Book of Genesis, so that it is both historically and scientifically truthful. We believe that the writings of Moses in Genesis are without error, entirely truthful in every way. The Book of Genesis that God wrote through Moses is full of great truth and knowledge that existed long before the Vedas were ever written.

When Jesus Christ was on the Earth in human form, He said that He was revealing to humanity even more details of God’s Truth. Jesus said that He was “revealing secrets that had not been made known since the Creation of the world.” So the words of God that came to us through Jesus are another great source of Truth about our Universe, as are the words of God that came through Moses in the Book of Genesis.

I believe that many countries in our world have invented newer stories about Creation, over a period of several millennia, that have made big alterations in the original True Account that was taught to humanity by the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus Christ.

I believe, for example, that there are “signs” in the sky that reveal the gospel message and God’s salvation plan for humanity. The stars in the constellations of the Zodiac were originally used for stories that told, at the dawn of creation— when humanity was still new to the Earth— all about God’s Great Plan to send His Son as a Savior for the world, a painful sacrifice by which God The Father would redeem the people of Earth. I believe the constellations of stars that humans now call the Zodiac were originally used by God as “signs” in connection with a salvation message. They were a little collection of stories that related to each of the constellations of the Zodiac, and that little series of stories originally described the prophecy of a Divine Savior coming to the Earth in a clear and simple way.

But later revisions corrupted all those constellation-based stories and turned them into the strange conceptions of modern-day astrologers.

In rather the same way, I believe that the original stories about God’s Creation got drastically changed and greatly altered by the writers of the Vedas and of the Upanishads. However, a little shaft of the light of God’s Truth can still be seen as it shines through in the Vedas... even though the writers have drastically changed God’s original stories of Creation.

Yet it is remarkable that a tiny remnant of the original accounts of God’s Creation can still be found inside these ancient creation stories— even in the much-revised form in which they are now found to exist in the Veda writings of India.

In the Upanishads, brahma is conceived to be the supreme spirit, the Source of existence, the creative force of the Universe, and the fount from which all things have arisen. The Upanishads agree that brahma is eternal, conscious, omnipresent, infinite, irreducible, and a spiritual source of the Universe. In the earliest Hindu stories, as found in the Vedas, brahma is personified as the creator god Brahma. But the stories say that the creator god Brahma is divided into three parts with three basic functions: He exists as Brahma The Creator, as Vishnu The Preserver, and as Siva The Destroyer.

Thus, we see that brahma’s earliest existence is described in India’s ancient writings as that of a three-part god (Brahma-Vishnu-Siva) who goes on to create a vast multitude of little gods and all of the physical Universe. This idea is remarkably similar to that of the Hebrew Bible, which describes God Almighty as having these same characteristics. The God of the Bible is a Holy Trinity that includes Three Divine Persons. The God of Jesus Christ is this same Triune God, a Divine Spiritual Being that includes three entities in One God. The Triune God of Israel contains Three Holy Persons: God The Father, God The Son, and God The Spirit.

There is a remarkable parallel here to the idea in the Vedas, since the Triune God of Israel’s Bible is known to be the Creator of the Universe (brahma and Brahma may remind you of Him)... while God The Son is the Savior-Preserver of the Universe... and God The Father is the Judge-Destroyer Who will one day destroy this evil world of ours.

The Bible says that in a time of Great Tribulation, when the Great Day of God’s Wrath arrives, the Earth and its human population will experience the terrible Judgement Day of God. Then God The Father will destroy the Old Earth with fire, burning it up, so that nothing remains of it. God the Father will next replace it with a New Earth of His own creation, reconstructing a Paradise on this planet. He will then produce and display for the Saved Remnant the ultimate goal of His great Plan for humanity— a new world in which all the bad things have been removed, and in which evil will no longer exist!

Can you see how the primal trinity of gods in Hinduism reflects the Bible’s idea of a Triune God, with Three Persons in One God? The Bible’s concept is a lot more ancient, and the idea found in Hinduism and in the Veda writings is one that has been greatly altered. But the idea of a Divine Trinity still shows up even in the creation story of the Vedas.

In early Hinduism, brahma is conceived as “an impersonal Supreme Being, the primal Source and the ultimate Goal of all being.” But in later Hinduism, Brahma is conceived as a trinity of the personal Creator, along with Vishnu The Preserver and Siva The Destroyer. That trinity goes on to create all the vast pantheon of Hindu gods and goddesses.

Even this idea has a parallel to the Holy Scripture of the Hebrew Bible, because the Triune God of Israel (Father-Son-Spirit) also goes on to create a vast multitude of spirit beings. The Bible teaches that God Almighty created first a great multitude of spiritual beings which He calls angels. There were undoubtedly millions of them, and many of these angels remained loyal to God, but one-third of the angels fell into sin and became “fallen angels.” The fallen angels degenerated and became demons and devils.

The Bible teaches that both good angels and evil angels (demons) exist in great numbers in our Universe, and they are constantly interacting with the human inhabitants of the Earth. They are somewhat more powerful than humans and are invisible to our eyes, but they are not gods of any kind— they are simply angels. The angels are impressive and the devils are scary, but we must remember that they are far inferior in status to Almighty God Himself. These spiritual beings called angels were created first, and it was afterward God created a race of humans on Earth, each one of whom was gifted with an immortal spirit that we often call a soul.

In the earlier times of India, a doctrine of Trimurti was seen to arise, which considers Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva as three forms of “the supreme, unmanifested deity.” This was then called the “Three Forms Doctrine.” I submit to you that your “unmanifested” Supreme Deity exists in another form and is actually the Triune God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus! It is the Holy Trinity of God The Father, God The Son, and God The Spirit! This is the “unknown God” that the nation of India has long been seeking to identify!

During the 7th century A.D., the Smarta initiated worship of 5 deities, omitting Brahma from their inner circle of primal gods. The diversity of gods and goddesses in the Hindu culture ultimately left Brahma behind, and he gradually lost all of his claims to the position as a supreme deity. I am informed by Encyclopedia Britannica that today, in modern India, there is not one cult or sect that worships Brahma exclusively, and Brahma has very few temples dedicated to him. Even so, all temples dedicated to Vishnu The Preserver or to Siva The Destroyer must contain also an image of Brahma The Creator. The inclusion of his image in these temples again reflects the idea of a Brahma-Vishnu-Siva trinity.

The ancient religion of India teaches that brahma is the fountain from which all things have arisen, and it is also the goal of all life... which must ultimately flow back to that spiritual existence which is the Source. In fact, one of the creation stories in Vedic literature says that even Prajapati himself (the “Lord of Creatures,” a term used for several different primal gods, including Brahma, if I understand the reference correctly) was somehow created from “the primal waters.” This idea also has a very interesting parallel in the Holy Scriptures of Jesus Christ.

If brahma is “the fountain from which all things flow,” and “the Lord of Creatures” began his existence somehow in “the primal waters” of the Universe, we Christians can easily maintain that our Lord Jesus Christ is even more so! Christ is truly “the fountain from which all things flow,” the divine source from which all things in our Universe have arisen!

Jesus Christ is God The Son, and He is the Three-Forms Fountain of our Universe! He is the Fountain of Eternal Life.

How strange it is to realize that in India today, there are hardly any temples left that are dedicated exclusively to Brahma The Creator. I understand that one of the only such temples left in India is found near the town of Pushkar, inside the state of Rajasthan. The main temple at Pushkar and the Pushkar Lake are dedicated to Brahma The Creator, whose followers think he is “the fount from which all things flow.”

The Pushkar Lake is considered to hold sacred water, and it is surrounded by many ghats (staircases) that lead down to the holy water of the lake, which is used for religious rituals and sacramental baths.

Great sanctity is attached to the Pushkar Lake by the devoted followers of Brahma. There is an annual l religious festival at Pushkar that draws thousands of pilgrims.

These Hindu pilgrims go to Pushkar Temple seeking salvation, but do they find it there? They go to the Pushkar Lake also, hoping to find in it a sacred water... maybe a sacramental bath that will rid them of their sins and someday let them find the release of Heaven. But do they find salvation in the Pushkar Lake?

No, only the Blood of Jesus Christ can wash away our sins and make us suitable for an entrance to Heaven. Only Jesus Christ is “the fount from which all things flow.” Only Jesus Christ can give us the “Living Water” that allows us to stay eternally in His Holy Presence, and that of His Father In Heaven.

Jesus is the Three-Forms Fountain of our Universe, and He is eternally God The Son!

Jesus Christ once lived on Earth in a human form, but He is actually God The Son, Who was there with God The Father and God The Spirit at the time of the Creation of our Universe and our Earth. In fact, God The Son is the Divine Person who actually handled all the details of the Creation of our Universe!

The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is God The Son, Who is also known as the Word of God. It says that Christ is the Word Who existed in the Beginning, and He actually created the Earth and all the rest of our Universe!

The Bible says that Christ is the Word of God, the Word Who was with God in the Beginning, and it clearly says that He is indeed one of the Three Persons of Almighty God. But it says also of Christ that “all things were created through Him and for Him.” That means this present Universe was created through Christ and for Christ, Who is the Only True and Sinless Son of God!

Jesus Christ told us Himself that He is One with the Father, that He is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” He said also that He is the Source of All Things, and that He is the “Living Water” which can give human beings an Eternal Life in the Holy Presence of God. He is more truly than any other “the Fountain of Living Water” from which all things in our Universe have arisen.

Christ is God The Son, and He was there with His Father at the moment when all the angels were first created. He was there with His Father when one-third of the angels fell into sin, ultimately becoming the demons and devils that currently harass the human population of our Earth. He was there with His Father when Adam and Eve were first created as the earliest humans on planet Earth. God The Son has always been in existence, because He, like God The Father and God The Spirit, is eternal, having no beginning and no end. He is the Beginning and the End.

Jesus was truly the Divine Son of God when He was born in human form as a child of the virgin Mary, and He then called Himself “the Son of Man,” meaning that He had become a unique and mortal human being as He was born of God through a human woman. He was a completely unique baby, conceived by God Himself when His Holy Spirit intervened in the life of the virgin Mary.

Jesus Christ was the human manifestation of God The Son during all the thirty-three years in which He next lived on the surface of our planet Earth. He was still the Divine Son of God when He went to that torturous wooden cross in Jerusalem, on which He would have to die as a sacrifice for the sins of all humanity.

Jesus died by torture on that wooden cross because He was completely submissive to the will of God The Father. It was His Father’s will that God The Son should die on that cross for the sins of humanity, in order that a new route to Heaven might be opened up for the sinful population of the Earth.

Jesus Christ died by torture on that wooden cross in Jerusalem so that YOU might be spared the torture of an eternity in Hell. Hell is the eternal punishment that is reserved for the demons and devils of our world, and for all who have rejected the True and Righteous God of our Universe. Those who reject Jesus Christ are rejecting God The Son, a Person of the Divine Trinity. At the moment when they make the fateful decision to reject Jesus, they also reject God The Father, Who sent Him to our world.

Jesus offers you the Living Water that can give you an Eternal Lifetime in His Presence and in the Presence of His Father. God The Father, God The Son, and God The Spirit are all knocking on the door to your heart, hoping that you will accept their gift... the free gift which can hide the sins of your life on Earth and give you an Eternal Lifetime in Heaven.

Choose Life rather than Death. In the Holy Scriptures of the Bible, God Almighty says “All those who hate Me love death.” Choose Life rather than Death... choose for yourself an Eternal Life in the Presence of Christ.

All you have to do is to ask Him to come inside your heart, praying that He will become the Lord of your life... the Supreme God of All Creation. You must have no other gods before Him. You must make no other god of your world more important than Jesus Christ, Who is willing to share with you His Holy Spirit and the gift of an Eternal Life in the Heaven of God.

You gain Eternal Life with God by placing Jesus Christ, Who in the Trinity of God created our Universe, upon a throne at the center of your heart! He deserves that position and that kind of respect. He was first God The Son, but when born in human flesh He became the only sinless and righteous person who ever lived. Yet He sacrificed Himself on a cross for your sake, taking all guilt and sins upon Himself— for you and for me, and for all people everywhere on Earth— that whoever wishes for salvation might be rescued from the due punishment of sins.

If you will do this, you will gain a new contentment and peace as you accept God's organizational plan for the Universe. . . because you'll be letting God be the Ruler of All Things in this world. . . and in your own life.

All it really takes is a simple but sincere little prayer— one that you should make up in your own words. The prayer for deliverance and for God's leadership should come from your own heart!

Some important elements that you might include are:

   1) your desire to turn away from all the wrongness or evil of your past life, and your remorse over all the sins of your previous life,

   2) your desire for God's forgiveness and mercy through the act of sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son (Jesus Christ),

   3) your desire to know God's leadership in your life,

   4) your desire to learn more of God's truth through Bible study,

   5) your desire to find fellowship with genuine believers.

When you’re saved, you’ll know Jesus is King of the Universe and the Lord of your life.

You’ll know the three faces of God Almighty: God The Father, God The Son, and God The Spirit. His Holy Light will start to be visible in your own face and actions!

Jesus said of the people of God that "The kingdom of heaven is like a net that God has cast into the sea, and it gathers of every kind: When it is full, it will be pulled up on the shore, where they will sit down to sort the catch, and they will collect the good fish in baskets, but the bad things will be thrown away. This is the way it will be at the end of the world: The angels shall come forth, and they will separate the unrighteous persons from among those justified by God. . ."

Excerpt from the Book of Matthew, who was a constant

companion of Jesus and his devoted disciple [13:47-50].

Jesus spoke of the people of God as being like a seed that is growing secretly, saying, "As for the kingdom of God, it is as if a person should cast seed into the ground; and then he sleeps, and he rises up night and day to see that the seed is springing forth and always growing up, although he knows not exactly how. The Earth is bringing forth fruit from itself; first the blade, then the ears of corn, and after that the fullness of the ears of corn. And when all the fruit of the Earth has come forth, immediately God will use the sickle to reap the fields, because the harvest-time has come."

Excerpt from the book of Mark [4:26-29].

It's also important for all of us to remember this:

   1) WE SPEAK TO GOD by our prayers.

   2) GOD SPEAKS TO US by the words of Holy Scripture.

So we must try to read His words and His Book just as often as we possibly can!!

God wants to bless you for all your long efforts to understand this very confusing and difficult Universe in which we live— so let Him reward your search with the grace of His forgiveness and enlightenment!
